Description:
John Wycliffe wrote the first hand-written Bible manuscript in English. He was known in Europe for his opposition to the teachings of the organized Church. After he died, his assistant and scribes produced copies of the writings. The pope crushed Wycliffe's bones and scattered them in the river due to hatred of his teachings. John Wycliffe was an Oxford professor, scholar, and theologian.
