Description:

Cause: It was caused because of the lack of stricter laws to reflect their time period, and it was made to fix the laws of pre-revolutionary France such as those set by the royals.
Effect: It allowed for France to help set in stone and recognize people's liberties, and seperate the state from the church completely.
