Bitstrips is a company founded by Toronto-based artists Jacob Blackstock and Jesse Brown in 2008 with the purpose of providing the mass a means of creating their own comic without needing artistic talent.In 2014, they created the app Bitmoji, which was an expansion of Bitstrips. Users now have the option to create their own personal emoji that they can use to share more personalized and expressive emojis on different platforms (Shaul, 2014).
