Description:

William Tyndale was born in the 1490s. He believed that every person should be able to read the Bible in their own language. He was stopped from translating the Bible in England by the church authorities, so he went to Germany in 1524. He was the first to use Greek and Hebrew texts to translated ehte New Testament and about half of the old Testament. The New Testament was finished in 1525 and printed at Cologne, with the first copies reaching England in 1526. Tyndale's Bible was the first English translation of the New Testament to be mass - produced due to the invention of the printing press.
