Description:

On the 11th of January in 1890 England sent an ultimatum to Portugal according to which Portugal should abandon the territories between Angola and Mozambique, which had been in Portugal's Pink Map.
The Pink Map was a map prepared in 1885 to represent Portugal's claim of sovereignty over a land corridor connecting the Portuguese colonies of Angola and Mozambique.
The ultimatum led to the withdrawal of Portuguese forces from areas which had been claimed by Portugal.
Portugal signed a treaty with England in which Portuguese territories on African soil were delimited.
