dec 24, 1929 - White House’s West Wing catches fire during Christmas party hosted by the President. On 12/31/1929 he sent a Letter to the DC Fire Department thanking them for their service. The West Wing reconstruction was not completed until April 1930. See Statement of 01/03/1930
