The official militia forces are reported to attack the miners with machine guns and bombs dropped from an airplane. (New York Times, 09/03/1921, p1). The President is reported to be leaving with a party of friends for weekend cruise on the yacht Mayflower. The conflict was largely ended by Federal Troops on 09/03/1921
