oct 16, 1891 - In Valparaiso, Chile, US sailors from the USS Baltimore were attacked, according to the US Navy report, simultaneously and in different locations. Two died as a result. In his Third Annual Message, Harrison states that the Chilean government reply to US inquiries "was couched in an offensive tone."
