jul 4, 1884 - The Statue of Liberty ("Liberty Enlightening the World" by the sculptor Bartholdi) is presented, in Paris, to United States, represented by the U.S. Ambassador. The Ambassador reported that the ceremony was "interesting and imposing." The Statue arrives in New York Harbor on June 17, 1885
