jul 3, 1844 - First trade treaty between the United States and China--Treaty of Wing-hsia (Wangxia)--is signed. The treaty established treaty ports for Chinese-Western trade. The treaty was ratified by the President 01/17/1845 and proclaimed on 04/08/1845
