Description:
When Slavery was a big issue in the whole country, like each parts were debating with each other that which region should be free and which region should be slaved. Usually Noortherns were the ones who disliked slavery, and banned it. Meanwhile the southerns were having slaves and slavery was allowed.
During this time the debates were getting hotter, a guy named Henry Clay know as the Great Compromiser became with an idea that Missouri would be a slave state, but Maine should be a free state. Plus No future Slavery north of the southern boundary of Missouri (36 - 30).
Causes:
-Missouri was known as a slave state.
-Maine was known as Free state and slavery was banned there.
-New states admission would be in Paris which would be one free, and one slave, maintaining a balance in the Senate.
-No future slavery from north of (36-30)
Effects:
-Slavery was still and issue and debate in the country.
-Slavery still continued, even New states joining the union.
- hot tension between the southerns, and northners who liked and disliked slavery.
