Description:
Ottoman Sultan Mehmed the first reunified the dismembered Ottoman territories after the Ottoman defeat at the Battle of Ankara. The territory was divided between Sultan Bayezids sons, Mehmed and his brothers, after the decline of the Timurid Empire’s collapse. Mehmed defeated his brothers and declared himself sultan of Anatolia and Rumelia. During his reign, he reduced Wallachia to a vassal state, made territorial gains in Albania, conducted raids in Hungary, and reestablished Ottoman control over most of the western provinces.
