Description:

The Battle of Kosovo was fought northwest of Pristina in modern day Kosovo between the armies of the Serbian prince Lazar Hrebeljanovic and the forces of Ottoman Sultan Murad the first. Under Murad’s rule the Turs had been expanding their rule from Anatolia into the Balkans. While he consulted with his commanders about attacking Serbia or Macedonia, Lazar mustered all of his forces in alliance with a Serbian noble, Czecks, and Wallachians. The Christian army advanced on Kosovo
The battle left both the leaders dead, and ended with the collapse of Serbia, and the complete encirclement of the Byzantine Empire by Turkish armies.
