At this time, Marvel was known as Timely Publications. Marvel Comics #1 included the Human Torch and Submariner. Marvel comics has grown into an enormous company today with thousands of comics, many movies and a huge fanbase. Many people, when they think of comics, the first thing they think of is superhero comics, and either Marvel or DC. But Marvel comics contributed more than just introducing so many people to comics. One of the major contributions was the creation of “the Marvel Method.” This method is where a scripter would write the general story and main plot points, hand it off to an artist for the details to be laid out and drawn, and then it would go back to the scripter or an editor to put in the dialogue. This was different from how it was usually done, where the writer would be very specific with what they wanted the comic to look like, instead of giving so much creative freedom to the artist. The Marvel Method changed the way comic books could be made and revolutionized the industry.
