aug 1, 1984 - The U.S. Air Force awards Oshkosh a contract for the P-19 ARFF vehicle. Designed to meet new transportability needs, the Oshkosh team successfully increases its tank-size to 1,000 gallons while reducing the wheelbase allowing the Air Force to transport the vehicle by air.
