jan 1, 1948 - Les Paul released the first multitrack recorded song.
Description:
In the 1940s, Les Paul didn’t like the way music sounded; he wanted something different. He invented multitrack recording; where you would record an instrument or vocal, then play it back, just to play another instrument or vocal over the top of it, layering the sounds. Using his invention, Les Paul invented Sound on Sound recording. He also created a disk cutting device that allowed him to edit the sounds he was recording. This device was made using parts from automobiles and some dental belts.
