Treaty signed between Ottomans and British to get Egyptians out of Syria
- Removes all monopolies in Ottoman Empire
- Gives British merchants full access to Ottoman markets
- Removes tariffs on European trade
- Doctrine of free trade TRIUMPHS with this treaty
As soon as Mehmed Ali is kicked out of Syria, British get to force him to abide by the treaty
- Reduce his army to a limited number
- Forced to dismantle monopolies, remove all tariffs
- Ends the ability of Egyptian states to amass resources that led to their expansion
