Description:
An act which established a "barred zone" that prohibited immigration from most of Asia, including India, and other parts of the world. This was called the "Asiatic Barred Zone" (Japan and the Philippines were excluded from the Zone because Japan had barred immigration, and the Philippines were a US territory).It also implemented a reading comprehension test for any individual over 16, and increased the tax paid by new Americans to further weed out any "undesirables".
