feb 6, 1987 - Mother's Family Immigrates to the U.S.: Immigrating For Better Opportunities
Location: Anhui, China ~ Los Angeles, C.A.
Description:
My mother doesn’t speak about how or when her family immigrated here because it was so long ago. She was my age, but I could never move halfway across the Earth. My mother is an inspiration to me; a way to show me that even when you leave everything behind, you can still become successful and happy in life. When my mother immigrated here, she was just fourteen, with her father, two sisters, and a brother. Later in the years, most of the family joined them. Three of my mother’s siblings stayed behind. I guess you never know what it is like to leave everything and everyone you left behind until you actually do.
