The diet of worms, headed by The ruler of the holy roman empire, Charles V, banned Martin Luther’s writings and declared him a heretic and enemy of the state. They demanded he stop preaching and to stop spreading his writings, which he of course denied. The protestant reformation followed suit.Added to timeline:
