The Marshall Plan, also known as the European Recovery Program, was an American initiative that was made to help rebuild western Europe after the end of WWII. This plan went on for 4 years and the US gave over $13 billion in order to help Europe. Some of the specific goals of the plan was to rebuild war-torn regions, remove trade barriers, modernize industry, improve European prosperity, and prevent the spread of communism.
