Description:

Led by Mao Zedong the communist party gained support in China and started fighting the nationalist party led by Chiang Kai Shek. Although the communist were gaining progress in the war, neither side compromised so the war continued. The Chinese Civil War was important during and leading up to the Cold War because it showed that communism had the support of citizens and that it was going to be hard to contain it in Asia.
