jun 19, 1953 - Rosenbergs Executed - Maggie
Description:
The Rosenbergs were a couple who were victims of a red scare in the early 1950s. They were convicted of selling atomic secrets to the Soviets i.e. espionage even though they claimed innocence until their deaths. This is significant during the Cold War because it shows how the United States was so blindly afraid of what the Soviet Union might have done that they killed two people who claimed to be innocent.
