jan 1, 1665 - Robert Hooke, Discovery of cells
Description:
(NOT ACTUALLY ON THE 1st OF JANUARY BUT YES, IN 1665)
Robert discovered cells while looking at cork under a microscope and seeing box-like shapes. He named these little rooms after cells like the cells monks in monasteries slept in. This was the very beginning of cell theory.
