In the 1850’s payable gold was found in Ophir New South Wales which had people rushing from places to get gold to sell and make a fortune or a new life. A few months after the gold rush in Ophir more gold was found in ballarat Victoria, but instead of just people in Australia going to get gold. Gold seekers all around came to Australia to get their hands on some. After Thousands of gold seekers came to Australia, Australian history was changed due to every colony having a different nationality or so. The gold rush changed Australia’s population by 1.3 million people, going from 430 thousand to 1.7 million.
