jan 1, 1832 - 7. Assisted migration
Description:
In 1831, the British and Australian Colonial government paid or forced thousands of migrants to move down to Australia. The British and Australian government wanted more people to move down to Australia so they started to encourage migration more than usual.
Between 1832 and 1850 over 127 thousand migrants moved from Britain to Australia which represented over 70 percent of immigration percentages at the time.
The debt free migrants who came down to Australia were given land by the land sale schemes, over time more and more migrants kept coming and the government kept losing land over time.
