Description:

Originally the department of education was included in the department of health, education, and welfare but eventually the governemtn realized how important education was to our society. Education got its own department so they could spend more time and money on focusing to improve our education system. Today the department of education is so important and makes decisions to improve our school system in the U.S. Now we have an entire department to focus on education and building the next generation.
