jan 2, 1964 - Civil Right Act

Description:

Even with Brown v. Board of Education many schools were still discriminating against students that were not white. They were ignored, beaten, and not given a satisfactory education. This caused Congress to produce the Civil Rights Act. This act made it illegal to discriminate against any student based of their race, color, or ethnicity. This changed education because it allowed a school to be a safe and inviting place for all children. It gave every child a equal chance at becoming great and having a good education.
