jul 1, 1863 - Battle of Cabin Creek

Description:

The First Kansas Colored Volunteers fight in the Battle of Cabin Creek in order to preserver Federal wagons and supplies against Confederate attacks. The first battle was an attempt by the Confederates to ravage a federal supply wagon, however they were driven off by heavy artillery fire, followed by infantry and cavalry charges. The second battle was another attempt at capturing the Federal Supplies and wagons during a night attack, which was then successful.
