Lawyers for Depp claim his ex-wife had affairs with James Franco and Elon Musk
Amber Heard had "extramarital affairs" with Elon Musk, the Tesla founder, and the actor James Franco, lawyers for her ex-husband Johnny Depp claimed in court yesterday.
Depp is awaiting a decision on whether his libel claim against The Sun over allegations he was violent towards Heard will go ahead next week.
The 57-year-old actor is suing the tabloid's publisher, News Group Newspapers, and its executive editor Dan Wootton over an April 2018 article which referred to him as a "wife beater".
The Sun's legal team made a last-ditch attempt to strike out Depp's claim yesterday, arguing that he had breached a court order by not handing over what were referred to as "Australia drugs texts" between Depp and his assistant, Nathan Holmes.
David Sherborne, representing Depp, also asked for "all communications" between Heard and a contact saved in her phone as "Rocketman", who Depp claims is Elon Musk, and between her and actor James Franco.
Mr Sherborne told the court that Heard had an affair with each of the two men while she was going out with or married to Depp.
David Price QC, representing Heard, resisted the application for disclosure.
