mar 12, 1947 - Truman Doctrine
Description:
The Truman Doctrine was an American foreign policy that had a purpose to counter Soviet expansion of land and of communism. This doctrine did not usually involve direct military intervention but instead encouraged the US to financially aid countries to persuade them to be anything but communist. This doctrine later led to the creation of NATO which is still in effect today. ~Austin
