Description:

-JFK decided to delay attack on Cuba + ignore last letter from Khrushchev

-letter accepted terms offered in Khrushchev's 2nd letter (Soviet missiles to be removed with US promise not to invade Cuba)

-said that USA would launch air strike on Cuba if missiles weren't withdrawn

-McNamara (one of JFK's closest advisers during crisis): "I thought it was the last Saturday I would ever see"
