this collection features the investigations duology in its entirety. the release of this game is the very first time that people in the west have the opportunity to officially experience the second game, now dubbed "prosecutor's gambit." as of this game's release, the community had been solely relying on a fan translation for ten years.

this collection features updated versions of the walk-around sprites, completely redrawn to fit in HD. it also has the option of switching the game back to the pixel art from the original DS games and a selection of orchestral arrangements of the original music to play in the game itself.

since the fan translation would have been too difficult to license in the end, capcom made the decision to localize the second game from scratch. as a result, western fans had to adjust to new names for the characters from the second game. the reaction to some of these names has been mixed.
