nov 26, 1098 - Christians take Ma'arrat

"On the fourth day at the end of November, he [ Raymond, the Count of St Gilles] reached the city known as Ma'arrat-an-Nu'man... The city was full of people... when the following day dawned our men ran to take up arms and stormed savagely throug hte roads and squared and on the rooves of the houses... They spared none: on the contrary the ystrung several up at he same time to finish them off more quickly... Each of our men took whatever he found" (Robert, 182-83, 185).
