The suffering and public humiliation Jesus endured before His crucifixion, are a fulfillment prophecy:
Isaiah 50:6 - “I offered my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard; I did not hide my face from mocking and spitting.”
Psalm 22:7-8 - “All who see me mock me; they hurl insults, shaking their heads. ‘He trusts in the Lord,’ they say, ‘let the Lord rescue him. Let him deliver him, since he delights in him.’”
Mocking and Scourging: Matthew 27:27-31; Mark 15:16-20; John 19:2-3 Soldiers mock Jesus, dress Him in a purple robe, and place a crown of thorns on Him.
Journey to Golgotha: Matthew 27:32; Mark 15:21; Luke 23:26; John 19:17 Jesus carries His cross, but Simon of Cyrene is compelled to carry it partway.
Preparation for Crucifixion: Matthew 27:34; Mark 15:23; Luke 23:33; John 19:18 Jesus is offered a drink mixed with myrrh, which He refuses. He is then crucified at Golgotha.
