apr 3, 33 - The Temple

Description:

Monday: After entering Jerusalem, Jesus visits the Temple, where He observes the activities and, in some accounts, expresses disapproval of the commercial activities taking place. He then leaves the city and returns the next day.

Scriptural References:
Matthew 21:12-13: Jesus enters the Temple and drives out those buying and selling, overturning the tables of the money changers and the seats of those selling doves. He declares, "My house will be called a house of prayer, but you are making it a den of robbers."
Mark 11:15-17: Mark describes Jesus driving out the merchants and overturning the tables. He cites Scripture, saying, "My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations. But you have made it 'a den of robbers.'"
Luke 19:45-46: Luke recounts Jesus driving out the traders and declaring, "It is written: 'My house will be a house of prayer'; but you have made it 'a den of robbers.'"
John 2:13-22: Although this event is described differently in John, it is placed at the beginning of Jesus’ ministry. John describes Jesus making a whip out of cords and driving out the merchants, asserting, "Take these things away; do not make my Father’s house a house of trade."
