After the Romanian Revolution deposes Ceaușescu, Viktor Vojdöm declares that the homeland of the Lats is independent from Romania. Within hours of doing so, the Lats on the Serbian side of the border down to the Danube also declare independence as well. The next day, the Lats in Hungary do so as well.
