ABDUCTION & HOMICIDE
Description:
On Thursday, May 28, 1980, Dorothy Scott, 32, was last seen at UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange at about 11pm, about to bring her car around to help a coworker who had gotten a spider bite. A few minutes later, her coworkers saw her car speed toward them then leave the hospital parking lot; they couldn't see who was driving because the headlights blinded them.
The next day, at about 4:30-5:00am, Dorothy's car was found, on fire, in an alleyway in the 800 block of South Townsend, about 10mi from the hospital.
Dorothy had been stalked prior to her disappearance and received threatening phone calls, and starting about a week after she disappeared, her family also received phone calls saying they either had Scott or had killed her
On Thursday, June 12, 1980, the Orange County Register (which had run a story about the case that day) got a call from an unidentified man who said "I killed her. I killed Dorothy Scott. She was my love. I caught her cheating with another man. She denied having someone else. I killed her" as well as other information that had not been published in the press.
On August 6, 1984, Dorothy's partially charred bones found by a construction worker in Anaheim Hills, ~30ft from Santa Ana Canyon Road. The bones had been there since at least 1982. COD could not be determined. She was identified through dental records. There have been no arrests in her case, which is still unsolved.
