Andrea LaDeRoute, 20, was last seen on Thursday, March 20, 1980. An indigenous Tolowa woman, she had been living in Fortuna with her boyfriend, John Annibel, at the time. Her skull was found in 2002 on the site of a company where Annibel worked for 13 years. Despite DNA evidence, John Annibel has never been charged with her murder. He has been convicted of the Nov. 29, 1998 murder of Deborah Sloan. He is also a suspect in the murder of Sherry Lynn Smith.

Very little information is available in Andrea's case. Her boyfriend, John, was known to be abusive toward her.
