jan 1, 326 BC - Alexander Conquers Lahore
Description:
Alexander the Great conquered the region around Lahore during his invasion of the Indian subcontinent.
Historians of Alexander the Great did not mention any city near Lahore's location during his invasion in 326 BCE, indicating that Lahore either had not been founded or was not significant at that time. Ptolemy later referred to a city called Labokla near the Chenab and Ravi rivers, possibly indicating ancient Lahore or its predecessor. In 630 CE, Chinese pilgrim Xuanzang described a large and prosperous city, potentially Lahore, under Taank rule, calling it a great Brahmin city.
