Description:

After getting home from the club with a friend, Betty Cloer, a 21-year-old white woman, left with a man she met at a Texaco gas station on Madison Ave, Sacramento on her way home between 1am-2am on Saturday, June 19, 1971.

At about 1pm that same day, she was found beaten and shot to death in Cameron Park, El Dorado County, "in an isolated field approx. 15-20mi west of Placerville." She was lying on her back, nude except for her bra. She had three (3) .32 caliber gunshot wounds: 1 to head, 1 to chest, 1 to arm. She also suffered crushing blows to the head that left her unrecognizable.

In 2002, DNA from seminal fluids found on Cloer's underwear matched that of Philip Arthur Johnson, who was then tried and convicted for the murder.
