Description:

Twenty one year old Kathy Sosic, a white blonde female, left the Sonoma State College library at 9:30pm, attempting to hitchhike to her home in Cotati (both are south of Santa Rosa). She was picked up by a male driver, between 40-45yo, 5'8, heavyset with a black mustache.

The driver drove east instead of west at the corner of East Cotati Ave, so Kathy asked to be let out of the vehicle; the man pulled what appeared to be a .45 pistol from between the front seats and said "You're not going anywhere." He held the gun behind Kathy's head. Kathy twisted around and grabbed the man's hand that held the gun and jumped from the moving car at what she estimated to be 20-25mph. "The incident occurred ~100yd east of the college entrance."
