2 h, nov 14, 1970 y - Robin Ann Graham
DISAPPEARANCE
Description:
18yo; last seen on November 14 1970 at ~2am by a California Highway Patrol (CHP) officer on the Hollywood Freeway southbound near Santa Monica Boulevard and Vermont Ave in LA. Her car had stalled/run out of fuel. She called her parents using a call box, asking a CHP emergency operator to let her parents know/ask them to pick her up. Shortly afterwards, a CHP officer saw her standing next to the disabled car. The CHP officer didn't stop (in accordance w/ policy at the time) because he saw her receiving mechanical assistance from a dark-haired white male, ~mid-20s, who drove a late 1950s model Chevrolet Corvette C1. The officer reported that Graham then appeared to have gotten into the man's car willingly
Her parents drove out at ~2:30am to pick her up, but they found only her car, locked & abandoned, on the side of the freeway. There is some speculation that she is one of the Zodiac's victims

" Graham was last seen on November 14, 1970 by a California Highway Patrol officer. She was standing next to her disabled vehicle on the Hollywood Freeway near Santa Monica Boulevard, south bound.
The officer stopped to see if she needed help, but Ms. Graham said that help was already coming. She had just called her parents to say she had run out of gas at the Santa Monica Boulevard offramp.
Later, the officer noticed a white male, 25-26 years with dark hair, talking to her. A 1958-1960 light blue Corvette hardtop was observed parked behind her vehicle at this time. The officer later assumed the man in the Corvette was the help she had called for. She hasn't been heard from since. Ms. Graham was a student at Pierce College at the time of her disappearance. "
- her case has been brought up multiple times ever since her disappearance whenever anything even remotely similar happens really (ie a young woman (often white) goes missing/is murdered)
According to Wikipedia, Robin's case is thought to be potentially linked to those of Cheri Jo Bates, Cindy Mellin, Rose Tashman, Kathleen Johns, Christine Eastin, Ernestine Terrello, and Mona Jean Gallegos. These cases are known by some online — and referred to in this timeline — as the Bad Samaritan Murders.
There are thirteen UIDs on Robin's exclusion list on NamUs; all but five of these rule-outs were found in Virginia. Of particular note are two CA Does: Granada Hills Jane Doe 1971 and San Fernando Jane Doe 1976. The only other UID found in a western state — Oregon, to be specific — that has been ruled out as being Robin has since been identified as Anne Marie Lehman.
In November 1972, the Van Nuys Valley News stated that, "the coroner's office said a dental check ruled out the possibility that the remains" of LA Jane Doe November 1972 "were those of Robin Graham." Furthermore, Jane Doe is not listed among the UIDs on Robin Graham's NamUs exclusion list.
Because of this, I submitted Jane Doe and Robin Graham as a potential match to the Doe Network on March 27, 2025, in order to confirm the exclusion and get them officially listed as rule-outs on each others' NamUs pages. That same day, Mary Bell of DN replied, "Thank you for the suggested match. I don't show any comparison of these having been done so I will have our panel look at it. If [it] is proven to be a positive match, I will contact you further."
On June 13, 2025, I received confirmation from Mary Bell of the Doe Network that the match between LA Jane Doe November 1972 and Robin Graham had been officially ruled out.
Anyone with information in Robin's disappearance is urged to please contact the LAPD's Adult Missing Persons Unit at (877) 275-5273 (according to NamUs), 213-485-4061 (according to the Doe Network), or (213) 996-1800 (according to CA DOJ). The agency case number is DR70687411.
