22h 45min, jun 8, 1967 y - Fermin Rodriguez & Enedine Molina Martinez

Description:

Fermin (36yo, Hispanic) and Enedine (35yo) were approached by a stranger while parked on Vallecitos Rd in Alameda County. The stranger told them to get out of the car. As Fermin was exiting Enedine's station wagon, the stranger shot him once, killing him.

Enedine was then forced into the killer's car and driven away. The killer then stopped by entrance of Sunol Regional Wilderness, where Enedine was shot dead once while trying to escape. A .22 caliber handgun was used. A nearby resident called the Santa Rita police substation and reported that they heart two gunshots.

The victims were not married to each other. Enedine was recently divorced, and Fermin was still married at the time. They had been lovers for many years, and apparently their families were aware of this. Both victims' spouses were cleared as suspects.

Enedine received strange phone calls leading up to her murder, starting in July. The phone calls almost always came between 10am-11am or between 7pm-8pm, and Enedine was usually not home when the calls were received. The caller never spoke, only breathing heavily. These calls continued even after the murders. Another source says that both victims received these mysterious phone calls, and that both had been followed several times by an unidentified driver. Enedine's daughter had overheard her mother say a car followed her whenever she was out. Fermin had also complained to his wife about a car following him. On another occasion, he told her that he had seen the strange car parked in front of his house.
