InfinityZoom187 conducted a small exploration of the Backrooms in Inostropia together with Vorhees3709. While reaching Level 0.3, Infinity noticed something unusual after encountering the Bacteria creature: it emitted a strong smell resembling rotting flesh, which was not typical behavior. Infinity, together with BVB got 1, began investigating the phenomenon. They discovered that all known Backrooms creatures shared this same odor. To study it further, they conducted a series of tests. BVB collected a sample of the Bacteria creature’s skin and brought it to the Backrooms research laboratory, where he and Infinity examined it closely. During their analysis, they made a significant discovery: a very small virus present within the sample. Further experiments were conducted, including tests on animals and even on BVB himself. The results showed that humans and animals could not be infected by the virus; only Backrooms creatures were affected. However, an unusual effect was observed: when the virus entered human or animal blood, it disappeared completely. The cause of this effect was unclear until further examination of the creature samples revealed a strange behavior—the virus did not simply spread or die out, but appeared to transfer into the cells of Backrooms entities. Because of this phenomenon, the virus was named the Evanesco Virus, derived from the Latin word “evanescere”, meaning “to vanish.” With all collected data, Infinity and BVB were able to define a full virus profile:

This was the Evanesco Virus. But this was not the only thing happening at this day. The backrooms portal itself had been designed in a controlled way: it could only be entered from one side, ensuring that Backrooms creatures would not be able to reach the overworld. The exit was located elsewhere, in an area where creatures from the Backrooms could not access it. However, this system suddenly failed. A Bacteria creature managed to enter through the portal. With considerable effort, BVB and InfinityZoom187 were able to force it back into the Backrooms, after which the portal returned to normal operation. Infinity then inspected the reactor connected to the portal to check for lag or technical malfunctions, but no irregularities were found. Despite this, the combination of the virus discovery and the breach incident led Infinity to take precautionary action. For safety reasons, he temporarily closed access to the Backrooms by constructing an iron wall in front of the portal.
