Description:
To satisfy the disquiet elements of the Malay leadership and prevent aggression, the Dutch found the city of Madripoor (meaning "city of the princess") on Bintin Island in the Riau Archipelago. The port becomes an economic boon for both the Malay and the Dutch. Bugis, Peranakan Chinese, and Arab traders flocked to the island.
