Description:
The author JM is JAX also was known under the Twitter handle of The Name Is Q. An ardent Johnny Depp advocate who has links with his family and team including Adam Waldman.
However this is a well written article that may or may not have been written on demand that makes a strong point about silence, misinformation, highly selective and obviously biased reporting in the mainstream media.
In the Spider-Web of Facts, Many a Truth is Strangled.
I feel like all I write about is the media. Specifically how they unabashedly ignore Johnny Depp’s evidence against Amber Heard but use any little divot in his behavior to revile him. I would really like to explore some other facets of this case; like how Johnny Depp didn’t completely decimate her in 2016 when he had the evidence to do so, like how he has acted like a victim of abuse over the last four years, like how he is revered by his peers and fans across the globe, but no. I have to keep talking about the media because, as I have been saying across four articles now, they refuse to report the facts of his case. I am not saying they need to bow down and kiss his feet by any means. I am saying that they need to report what is happening and they simply are not doing it.
This week there was a hearing in London for his libel suit against The Sun for printing on their cover in 2018 that he was a wife beater without the use of the adjective alleged. As a reminder, over the last month two audio tapes emerged from the evidence deposit in this case where Amber Heard admits to multiple acts of violence and abuse against him in her own words and directed at him. The media was largely silent over this revelatory documentation and it was mostly spread on social media sites like YouTube and Twitter. It did cause a lot of positivity for Johnny Depp amongst the public, who were horrified to hear this woman, who had presented herself as solely a beaten down victim, admit to hitting him and throwing a variety of objects at him. Not to mention chastising him for being a victim of assault and mocking his attempts to say he was her victim.
One would think with those tapes causing such a stir it would make some kind of news, but alas the crickets could be heard singing through editorial rooms the world over. At the hearing in London some text messages were read that were written and sent by Johnny Depp to his friend and fellow actor Paul Bettany. They were very few and included admissions of drug use and drinking and, the most popular, “let’s burn Amber.. then drown her.. I’ll fuck her corpse to make sure she’s dead”. Contrary to the explosive audio these few snippets were broadcasted with haste across all the media world. Never-mind that they were a fleeting few amongst over 70,000 texts and emails that the sun received accidentally, according to Depp’s lawyer, through some mishandling of case information.
Let’s pause for a moment. The Sun was accidentally handed seventy thousand text messages from Johnny Depp to who-knows-who and all they could find were three “incriminating” messages. Two of which revolve around his long admitted struggle with drug and alcohol addiction. But the third one.. the perceived threat to her about burning and drowning and necrophilia, that really got people riled up. To the point the fourth text wasn’t even mentioned, “I am admittedly too fucked in the head to spray my rage at the one I love…For little reason, as well I’m too old to be that guy But, pills are fine!!!” Directly after presumably venting or joking to his friend he says.. I could never hurt her I love her too much, that was a good laugh though! Of course this was left dangling on a cliff because salaciousness above all.
These messages were allegedly sent in 2013. This is long before marriage and long before the indecent headlines about this relationship hit the wires in 2016. It’s questionable what the preceding context to the message is. I’m inclined to think one of two things. He either was already venting about being abused by Amber or this is the punchline to some gallows humor. I find it nefarious that The Sun would read these during a hearing knowing full well they would be recorded and that they may not even be admissible. Dubious to say the least. I have seen many messages over the last few days, “if someone saw the messages my friend and I send to each other I would be arrested!” I think this is the rationale most people have sided with. Things are said in heated moments and in wisecracks that no one means with any seriousness.
Anyone who is out preaching about the horrors of this message should be sure to take a good hard look in the mirror. I find it very hard to believe that those calling for his head now have never jested about killing one of their friends or loved ones. “You ate the last cookie! I’ll strangle you!” 99.9% of the population does not mean these things in earnest. Johnny Depp has a dark and irreverent sense of humor. If you really think he was threatening to burn, drown, and fornicate the corpse of his girlfriend I’m having a hard time believing you’re of sound mind. Was it a nice thing to say? No. Do humans always say nice things? Also no. Does that make people inherently bad? A third time, no.
My problem here isn’t even really with the messages or how people chose to perceive them. It’s that in the face of two lengthy audio tapes this one message to a friend has stolen all the headlines where the tapes never had any to begin with. I don’t know how a publisher can print broken up text messages, conveniently leaving out his concession of the joke, but an hour of continuous audio doesn’t make the cut? This minor instance has many clutching their pearls and again turning a blind eye to everything that has come out in his defense. I don’t find this coincidental. There is a faction of people that refuse to accept him as a victim and refuse to accept that any man could be. They have now clung to this and are screaming at the top of their lungs about it. I find it funny because, though they are being loud, they aren’t really making a great point. You know how the saying goes, “the loudest one in the room is the weakest one in the room.”
I’ve said it before and I am saying it again — there is a coordinated effort to block his absolving evidence from the major media outlets. The trial for this case begins on March 23. According to Johnny’s lawyer he has, “one of the largest bodies of physical evidence ever assembled in an abuse hoax case..” That’s no laughing matter. I suspect that once that typhoon of evidence washes over the court there will be no conceivable way that the media will be able to ignore it. I also suspect that they will find a way to do just that.
