jan 1, 1620 - The Scientific Method
Description:
This is the year that Francis Bacon developed his scientific method. While he knew, as ancient philosophers did, that the five senses inherent to humans weren't completely accurate in their observations, those senses were the best way that humans could observe the world around them. As such, he developed a method of trial and error, developing hypotheses and using them to discover the truth about the natural world. While much of the Baconian method has been revised, the basis that it was founded on still holds up and is, in turn, used as the basis for the modern scientific method.
