Description:

中國鴉片戰爭後，根據北京條約在1860年開港通商，臺灣開放淡水及安平港為通商口岸，1863 年雞籠開港、1864 年打狗開港。
也因為開港，臺灣周圍常常會有西方的船隻發生船難，漂流來台。
