Description:

Set up by a Chartist leader, Fergus O'Connor. The aim was to buy land which would split up into small holdings made available to industrial workers who wished to pursue a rural lifestyle. Scheme had limited success. The division of Chartist engergies into other schemes such as this was a weakness.
